Russian Post is Russian delegated carrier. It serves almost all international postal traffic which comes from other delegated carriers of the world.

Currently Russian post works better and faster that several years ago and most items get delivered not more than month from sending date (except some hard days like New Years).

Russian post can track most official tracking numbers sumitted by UPU rules:

Ex123456789XX - (EMS, via their department EMS Post Russia)
Cx123456789XX - Parcel post
Rx123456789XX - Registered mail
Lx123456789XX - Letters/1st class mail/express letter/customs label
Vx123456789XX - Insured mail

If you sent item which include one of these labels, then you can track it up to delivery.

Russian post doesn't track letters with
Ux123456789XX - letter and
any other barcodes which doesn't match XX123456789XX rule, except local 14 digit numbers.

Additionally, Russian post tracks all insured and valued UNREGISTERED items, but they do it for internal security and delivery statistics, to prevent stealing on the way to delivery office. It is possible to trace item using new number, after it delivered.

You should know that all items which has tracking number, has complete data of recipient, and items could be found by Name of recipient in the delivery office upon arrival.

All other types of mail, such as letters, unregistered unvalued uninsured mail, are not trackable and cannot be found in any electronic systems, so they delivered as usual letters and could be lost.

Russian post is not safe, all the time very late and not reliable.
